Extra Action Marching Band deleted from Wikipedia

Has the world gone upside-down crazy? Are pigs checking out their new wings? The Extra Action Marching Band has been deleted from Wikipedia. The deletion review claims they are of “questionable notability”.

Now, wait just a minute. They are THE San Francisco treat. They are a national treasure-trail. They are the descendants of legendary seminal counterculture underground band Crash Worship. They have had numerous articles written about them and have national press (like the huge profile in Spin). They are one of David Byrne’s favorite bands and have played with him on several occasions. They have been imitated, nearly arrested, they have been asked to play in Coke commercials (and refused), they’ve gotten props from judges in the SF Pride parade (which they’ve played more than once), they’ve played everywhere from the Knitting Factory to Guca. They have CDs, movies and groupies a-plenty. They’ve played protests, music festivals, they’ve done lineups with Modest Mouse and The Killers. They’ve played parades, Critical Mass, birthday parties, bars and clubs, bar mitzvahs, wedding proposals, prison breaks, tax audits and I heard they even did a silent birth once.

Put the best band in the world back on Wikipedia please. Don’t make them crash the next Jimmy Wales lecture, ‘cuz you won’t like those flag girls when they’re angry.
