Oh, Carmen

I really like Carmen Electra. I think she’s cool. Are you surprised? Well, she may be a trope and seem like an assembly line model from the Hollywood “sexy” factory. But after I saw her in “Scary Movie” where she parodies herself and the serial killer stabs her but she’s (temporarily) saved by her breast implants, I became a fan. I love people who parody themselves. Especially in media, where we’re all caricatures of ourselves. So I was excited to see my favorite celebrity trash rag had a mini-feature with pics of Electra dancing topless at Crazy Horse, and they have video of her routine (thesun.co.uk). But — I’m sad to say that I think the girls she’s dancing with are hotter. It’s all in the breasts. It’s not that I really have anything against boob jobs. They’re not to my taste but I don’t discriminate against them (though you, dear readers, are very vocal about disliking them when they’re obvious). Lots of my friends have boob jobs. Nice ones. However, sometimes I have an almost physical reaction to seeing certain ‘jobs in the wild.

Let me explain. I had this reaction to Electra’s Crazy Horse pics.

It’s a feeling I get when I look at certain (and again, obvious) fake breasts. It’s when the skin looks tight and shiny, or you can see a ripple or a scar, and they look too hard or too high. Like when you wonder if the nipples (too high up, hard looking) can feel anything. Mind you, I’ve seen a *lot* of fake breasts in my lifetime. Too many to count, and all kinds. I’ve squeezed many :) Maybe someday I’ll have a girlfriend with implants; that would be fine. But: when they look — painful. That’s when I see fake boobs and it’s the closest I get to actually understanding what guys are experiencing when they see another guy get kicked in the balls on a TV screen or in the movies. You know, you’re sitting there and someone in a movie gets kicked in the nuts, and the guy next to you squirms and crosses his legs in ghost empathy pain. It’s visceral.

I get the same feeling, but in the chest area, when I see ouchy breast implants. I squirm and instinctively put my hands over my breasts in a protective gesture.

Anyway, I like Electra and the set is worth a look. It’s just interesting — and you can really see it here — just how out of place and non-sexual fake breasts look nowadays. It’s my opinion, but let me know what you think in the comments.

  1. I have conflicted feelings about boob jobs.

On the one hand, I completely support a woman’s right (or a man’s, for that matter) to do whatever she wants to her own body, especially if it’s something that will make her feel more comfortable or sexier or just plain better about it. Everyone should be able to be confident in their own skin, and if plastic surgery helps and you can afford it, well, go for it.

But on the other hand, I hate that we live in a society that makes women feel bad about their bodies if their breasts aren’t big, high, and firm. I hate that some women don’t feel sexy in their own bodies unless they make their boobs bigger.

Because, in my personal humble opinion, speaking as a fan, breasts are fantastic — big breasts, small breasts, medium-sized breasts, perky breasts, saggy breasts, big nipples, little nipples, firm breasts, wobbly breasts… they’re all good.

Seriously, I don’t know how y’all walk around with those things all day without playing with them all the time :)

To return to my point, from which I was momentarily distracted… if a woman wants to get a boob job because she herself genuinely wants one, then I fully support her. But if she wants one because she’s bought into a societally-imposed standard of beauty that doesn’t happen to care for whatever nature gave her, then… well, it’s still her right, of course, but I would wish that she would think twice.

  2. The way you talk about getting all squirmy when looking at fake boobs is how I feel looking at nipple piercings… Just not my thing…

I’ve always had a problem with fake boobs when they look fake. I don’t understand why when people have plastic surgery, they cheap out. If you’re going to pay for something like that, go to the GREAT doctors, the ones that are artist and skilled. This goes for all types of plastic surgery. Sure, the GREAT doctors screw up, but on average, their higher fees are well worth the fact that their work is actually, you know, believable.

With Carmen… it’s not just the look, but, when she’s wearing the bustier, which is supposed to push everything up, she looks ridiculous. The contours aren’t right. Maybe the bustiers aren’t fitted properly, but I don’t think thats the problem.. It’s almost as if he breasts are distracting…

  3. Agree totally about fake breasts. If the woman is sexy, first reactions are, “a bit odd but it’s not going to stop me and they do have a certain attraction”. But then you realise the subtle stuff – they don’t feel the same, look the same, move the same”. When will women learn that most men don’t demand perfection? Just make the most of what you have – eat well and exercise – and have a sexy attitude. Impercection/real is good – it’s individual and it’s you.

  4. Fake tits? A total turnoff for me. A few months ago one of the hottest pornstars revealed her new fake tits on her blog. Until then I had visited her blog every day or two. Haven’t been back since her announcement and unveiling.

My lust only rises for female bodies with bubblebutts with shapely thighs below; above, tiny waist and slender torso with tit size from small to medium. Such bodies I love to ogle.
