Hello, Zivity!

Merkley??? Violet Blue - Sky Cam - decoded
Image by Merkley??? from my Zivity photoset.

I’m very excited to announce that I’m now part of the Zivity modeling community! My first set went live today — if you’re a member, feel free to vote for me and Merkley???, who shot my first set. (OMG) I really like Zivity’s community-focused base, and that their $10 a month subscription lets viewers vote for their favorite photographers and models in a noncompetitive way, where revenue is split between the artists. A very cool idea — I think it’s the new face of soft/hip pinup, in the direction (aesthetics, hipness and ethics) that enterprises like tired old Playboy could have gone to become relevant. Other photographers and models on the site include Addicted Image, Christine Kessler, Chase Lisbon, Darenzia, Apnea and more. Wow, this is feeling kinda glamorous… Here are some Zivity samples:

* Looks like Flickr shut down another one of Chase Lisbon’s Pro accounts with no warning (again). That really sucks. Do not miss his very angry response.

  1. Why is everyone in the “indie” and alt porn scene jumping on the zivity bandwagon? Doesn’t anyone of the people that are supposedly indie or alternative realize that if they thought suicide girls was a bad idea, that they are just throwing their hard earned work into a corporate monster that makes SG look like a better option for indie artists? Atleast at 99% of the rest of the adult industry if you make a sale or have fans join you can get paid through a refferal program within a reasonable ammount of time..not 3-6 months later. Also note, maybe Mr. Lisbon should take a hint that if you want to put your adult material on a site that has the option to delete anything at any time they feel like it, you should expect to get deleted. Just another example of “indie” artists going completely mainstream and then complaining that they are deleted from whatever site they uploaded their work to. I have an idea.. why not make a venue where artist and producers and fans can all have a look at adult material, as well as publish their portfolios.. OH wait ..we already did that.
I find it both ridiculous and astonishing to see how much these people complain and how many “sold out” t shirt sales are happening from the drama created by people that dont seem to understand that if you want to be an indie artist you have to actually work to create a venue for that. But selling t-shirts is more important… Its also more important to air your personal life in public , which both Apnea and Mr Lisbon are so very good at doing.. especially considering that more than half the traffic to supercult.com goes to the free message board (which Chase uses as some stomping ground for gathering his troops every time he feels he’s been wronged by a site that he doesn’t own, or some other photographer that he claims steals his style) I would really like to see Mr Lisbon take a real photograph, not overly photoshop it, and shut the fuck up about all his little problems or who he is currently dating…. Isn’t porn JUST porn anymore? I dont think that most people want to participate in the endless lawsuits, drama, or the new corporate mainstream cool indie fake bullshit 3 million dollar website.

  2. Ha! That’s awesome. Geezus Christ on a Bike, what is up with that shit Flickr? The ability to erase their paying subscribers’ hard work seems pret-ty damn arbitrary. (They’ve done this to you before, haven’t they, Violet?) Lisbon had more than 1,000,000 views on his first account when they zapped it. Hardly good PR that; talk about shooting yourself in the foot.
