stuff for guys
Books on male sexuality generally suck big time, and not in the way we all like... So this section is much smaller than I'd like it, but I've read oodles of male sexuality books, and most of them are so full of bullshit about "what women like" and "being a man" that the information seems strained through a sexually paranoid macho filter. But the few books I have in this growing collection are excellent and informative, and don't feel they need to use car or sports euphemisms to communicate to a male audience about sex.
The Multi-Orgasmic Man Chia + Abrams
Now here's a cool book: I'll get the drawbacks out of the way first. One, it's by and for het males so it leaves a spectrum of male sexuality out; and two, it's written in new age terms, much like the other books by these authors. But here's what's great -- it's all about male multiples and how to have them, and has a lot of different techniques to try. Also in French and Spanish.
Out in the Open: The Complete Male Pelvis Schultz
This is for men what The Clitoral Truth is for women; a complete guide to the sexual anatomy of a man, from photos to male sex anatomy illustrations and more. But unlike its female counterpart, it focuses more on anatomical subjects like circumcision, erection and its mechanics, and internal structures rather than the anatomy of pleasure. But how you use the information, of course, is up to you. Also includes sexual health exercises for men.
The Ultimate Guide to Anal Sex for Men Brent
Written for a primarily gay male audience but with a nod toward heterosexuality, this guide to anal sex for men is an excellent resource guide on the topic and provides a ohorough exploration of male anal sex, including rimming, penetration, and a variety of techniques and issues. One of the few books on male sexuality that approaches the prostate from a sexual, not medical, perspective.
Dick: A User's Guide Costa + Moore
It's far more entertaining than anything else (read: it's not too deep), but still full of fascinating facts about male sexuality, the penis, ejaculation and much more -- including anatomy, hygiene, safety, size issues, condoms, sex, premature ejaculation, infections, infertility, injuries, and cancer. Written by two female doctors in a humorous tone.
The Family Jewels: A Guide to Male Genital Play and Torment Haberman
The book's title already hints at the playful tone in the text; but nothing belies the wealth of information imparted about cock bondage, male genital play, cockrings and cages, and all sorts of ways to torment and give (safe) pain to the male genitals. Required reading for anyone who plays with pain and the boy basket; plus advanced sections you won't find in any other book.
The Viagra Alternative Bonnard
This is a really interesting book, in that it isn't trying to get you *not* to try Viagra, but that it offers up a whole bunch of other things to try for erectile difficulty and just plain old recreational fun with making a hard penis a bit harder, for longer. Lots of information and recommendations on herbal Viagras and how to use them, and more. A little old and dry, but still fascinating.
Victims No Longer Lew
Written especially for men who have survived childhood sexual abuse and sexual trauma, this thoughtful book approaches healing and enjoying adult sex from a sex-positive perspective, putting control over emotions and physical reactions back in the hands of the survivor and empowering the reader to have a healthy and hot sex life.
