I really hope Belle can weather this and be /that/ spokesperson. Her position of being a kickass college student, in the news, and a performer is an absolutely amazing position to wield for positive. She seems to be handling it very well, and I wish her the absolute best. School IS fucking expensive.

Thanks for the shoutout, Violet. :)

Re: the link to our possible strike at Scarleteen and the question of if cutting services is the "right" thing to do? The thing is, without the funding to pay for those services and sustaining them, it is really the ONLY thing we can do. Providing the services we may cut or have go dark isn't free: they cost money.

So, right or wrong isn't really an issue here, IMO. Just like right or wrong isn't an issue when a free clinic closes because it isn't getting funding to pay for the costs of providing free services to its patients anymore. It's more a matter of seeing that what we currently have to work with -- and the limitations of how little we have had to work with for a long time finally catching up with us, as we have known and said they would -- and doing what we can with that. Which is a lot less than we have been doing as we have asked, year after year, for the support we need to sustain those services.
