- This is evil. The Street decided to find as many sex workers and sex work orgs that it could, and then reported them to conservative members of congress (such as Rep. Chris Smith (R., N.J.) as violations of San Francisco law (where Twitter is located). Addressing Ambassador-at-Large Luis CdeBaca of the U.S. State Department’s office to monitor and combat human trafficking, Smith asked at the subcommittee hearing that he speak to U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder to initiate a crackdown on Twitter, Backpage, Craigslist and other social media “that are the conduit for this terrible exploitation of women.”

- Adult film producer Kink.com is firing back at the California State Occupational Safety and Health Administration, after Cal-OSHA announced fines against the company in excess of $78,000. The majority of the citations are related to relatively minor issues, such as extension cord violations and paperwork, which Kink says are due to it’s ongoing overhaul of the 100 year old National Guard Armory where they shoot. - File it under predictable: The British government’s attempt to force Internet service providers to install filters that block inappropriate content isn’t going so smoothly. Critics of the hastily planned attempt to have the nation’s Internet browsing become porn-free by default warned that much more than smut would be affected, and they seem to have been right. A government working group is now coming up with a white list of websites that have been inadvertently blocked by filters, according to a BBC report.
