What’s even more interesting that Emily Witt’s “What Do You Desire” article has been the response to it, especially from conservatives. There’s been a lot of handwringing, and none of them really mention the most important detail of all: ever since the invention of modern, reliable birth control, the rules and dynamics of the culturally approved relationships have been completely upended. It’s the elephant in their room, the one thing they rarely acknowledge (and when they do, they sound like loons). It’s a fascinating look at two groups, both of which are grappling with a new, almost post-human dynamic.

If you want to buy dildos made in America, there are plenty of small boutique shops and even Etsy stores where folks are making high-quality silicone toys. Bad Dragon, Exotic Erotics, Damn Average, Square Peg, all made in the USA. I’ve got two BD’s and an SP, and they’re all freaking amazing, hypoallergenic, sterilizable, and just plain old wonderful.
