  • Fetish model and producer Natali Demore (BondageOrgasms and SmotheredSlave) and her video editor Jack Banner were found dead on Aug. 4 at Demore’s production studio in Van Nuys, where they followed through on an apparent “consensual suicide pact.” Demore and Banner died of wounds from two shotguns found at the scene that were rigged to fire simultaneously.

  • The author of Scam School (Brian Brushwood, who I appeared onstage with at SXSW this year) and his podcast co-host Justin Young decided to make a prank version of 50 Shades with cutesy hipster references and based on fan submissions, and even though it’s a joke in every way, it’s at the top of the iTunes charts.

  • Ms. Naughty writes, “US Olympic rower Henrik Rummel’s impressive package inspired numerous items on Gawker, complete with close-ups, admiring his groin, musing about whether the tackle was erect or not and analyzing the overall size of said member. They even interviewed Rummel about his penis. The rowing star denied having a boner.”

  • Early polling suggests that California’s Proposition 35 looks like a sure winner in November. Unfortunately, Prop 35 is badly drafted — potentially turning even misdemeanor offenses dealing with prostitution, solicitation, non-marital sex, sex with minors, “sexting,” pornography, obscenity, and extortion into major, multi-year felonies.

In relation to the anal fisting case (it is very amusing to watch newspapers and journalists trying to talk about it in a tactful way!), the barrister in question was interviewed on Newsnight two days ago (8th of August, I think), so catch it on BBC iPlyaer. Useful for at least those in the UK!
The interview is good as it focuses on the legislation that prompted the trial, it was apparently only meant to be used for ‘dangerous’ material which could be potentially published – and in this case, it invaved the privacy of an individual. Who, by the way, was the advisor to Boris Johnson, so it will be interesting to see whether he gets his job back after this…
