[Video] Ultra-Sexy Trailer for Animated Sci-Fi Blaxploitation Feature “Soul Man”

SOUL MAN™ Teaser Guillaume Ivernel (Blacklight Movies) from Blacklight Movies on Vimeo.

Watch the trailer for French animated, sci-fi blaxploitaiton 3D film Soul Man on full screen – I insist. Set to be a full-length feature (with production studio Blacklight Features mum on the release date), it’s got to be one of the hottest film trailers I’ve ever seen. Director Guillaume Ivernel told Variety that Soul Man is a “Shaft”-meets-”Blade Runner” sci-fi thriller with a father-daughter relationship at its core, and “a combination between Moebius-style French animation, Japanese anime and American blaxploitation movies.”

Four days ago Blacklight uploaded the full 1’20 CG trailer, but I’ve embedded the first Soul Man trailer above instead because it has dialogue and a longer fight scene showcasing the superheroine – a woman with curves that could save the world and an ass that pops my blood pressure into the stratosphere. According to Blacklight’s blog, creation of the main character is heavily influenced by Barbarella and embodies “undeniable erotic power.” Blacklight (“a cyberfunk company”) says they’re working on a longer, 8-minute teaser as they work on the film as they look for distribution, and it can’t happen for me fast enough. The only problem I have with Soul Man is that it’s not out yet!
