I think that a lot of people's sexual exploration gets unfortunately negatively colored by the fact that they tried something new with a total asshole. Or that they really don't like what they tried and have to make a generalization about it. That's what I got from the piece - but also that The Ethical Slut is a book that should be read if it is going to be practiced. And, that the book is limited in scope, and leaves much to be desired in defining today's relationships. Personally, I'm hoping Dan Savage is working on a book about monogamy.
