As for South Carolina threatening Craigslist, I think the best response would be simply to shut down access to Craigslist from SC IPs other than to a page saying “Your state government doesn’t like our content, if you have a problem with this, click here [link to setup that discovers the local legislators for people who want to complain]”.
And we’ll see how long it takes for the SC state legislature to discover that their constituents like Craigslist better than they like their local incumbents.
