More Glamazons: Exclusive

In November last year, filmmaker Carlos Batts sent me exclusive (very explicit) stills from his then not released film Glamazons, which was being pulled off as a sort of Radiohead of porn. Batts — a dear friend, as is his lovely wife April Flores — just sent me more exclusive images to celebrate the film’s release. Which is good, because it seems to me that the studio is totally dropping the ball on promoting this film. No big surprise; it’s typical in books and film in general to craft a piece of art you care deeply for, engineer its marketing to be as clever as your art and your audience, and then whoever gave you the $$$ to make your work totally doesn’t get it when it comes to getting your work out there. Especially in the past five years; PR flacks have invented ten thousand new ways to fuck up our work, and have made themselves asshats in a million new guises through neu media.

But Glamazons is a real vision. Glamazons is the third piece in a documentary series directed by Batts, starting with by the art porn film Alter Ego, followed by Voluptuous Life. Glamazons stars April Flores, who Bizarre Magazine called, “The worlds biggest sex star. Glamazons is the digital evolution of a model to a muse now Sex Star. If Paul Rubens or Egon Schiele had a camera they would be on April Facebook page, setting up a photo session with her. April is part of the lineage of woman that have inspired the masters throughout the history of art.”

April Flores is absolutely a sensational, a voluptuous, powerful, self-aware, delightfully sexual, delicious woman. Glamzons stars Flores, Ruby Violence, Jerry, Alix Lakehurst, Blue (no relation) and her Pole Dancing Friends, Quin, Honey and Jersey. It’s got tracks by The One, hustlePUNCH, DHUNDEE, Dirt & Bank, BHAV. Here’s the trailer:

This part’s important: Carlos wrote me saying, “April and I first thought of this as an extension of the photography we’d created the first 4 years of our relationship. We shot so much, all the time; we just needed another medium to help document the speed at which we recorded our lives. After making Alter Ego we were hesitant about doing another video project because we were not trying to make a pseudo artist adult film, or gonzo porn. We just wanted to try to document our lives for artistic reasons. The video camera became a natural extension of the art.”

Think about the beauty inherent in this film and their passion and all the possibilities being created with porn like this when you read my next post where I tell AVN to go fuck itself (with my fist = the exclamation point) after they called April a “heifer” and stated that jacking of to “fat chicks” is “embarrassing” in their new issue. I have to calm down first. My anger is limitless right now.
