All images are by the incredible, occasionally disturbing but mind-bending Erwin Olaf (“Fashion Victims” gallery). The Flash UI is frustrating but the images are so worth it. While you’re there, look at “Paradise The Club” (clown + porn warning but whoa), “Blacks” is an *incredible* journey into dark explicit Victoriana, and “Chessmen” is — intense. What a fantastic discovery (Thanks, Michael.)
This Behind Kink video is short and contains no sex but is soooo cool. While getting part of The Armory ready for set building, the employees found a 75-year-old time capsule (of sorts) inside a wall. Oh — and ::brag:: I had drinks with the kewt, smart brunette on wednesday. I love this kind of thing, and especially that it’s being archived online, and off.
If you’re local, this is the do-not-miss this weekend: Carlos Batts and April Flores (also ogle her on Flickr) — THE Fatty Delicious — will be here in San Francisco causing trouble and having a couple of events. On Saturday (Feb 28th) from 6-8pm, they’ll both be at Good Vibrations on Valencia Street signing and hanging out to drink, dance (there’s a DJ) and answer questions about anything you want. It’s free! They really want you to buy their new film Voluptuous Biker Babes (fyi, purchases on Amazon look good to their distributor if you can’t pick up a copy locally). As you can see above, it’s a surreal, porn and drag queen soaked re-imagining of “Faster Pussycat, Kill! Kill!” and was shot on the location of Russ Meyer’s original film. Carlos and April are two of the coolest, most creative people I know. Go say hi.
And *next* weekend if you’re in Los Angeles you have to go to the midnight screening of Voluptuous Biker Babes on Friday March 6 at The Beverly Cinema for a mere $7 — including gift bags and seeing the film with the glorious gorgeous cast! (Facebook event page here.)
The cool startup blog BrokeAss Gourmet — sex, food, wine, feeding our jobless asses, snarky fun — is really taking off. And they’re letting me have as much fun as I want (plus they are actually nice cool people). That said, my new post is up — another meal to have sex by, for under $20, with enough cash left over for a bottle of booze. As with all my recipes, the Sultry Chicken Ginger Gyro has vegetarian options. And I love how in my last post a commenter took me to task for telling people to steal mustard packets instead of kicking down for Dijon when you’re too broke. And then another commenter responded, “if your Valentine isn’t worth stealing for, it’s time to upgrade.” Agreed.
Nothing says ego-baiting like a hot-or-not contest. Every time there’s a “sexiest X” contest online I just imagine some overly manicured, watery-eyed, heavily perfumed PR flack spinning in her office chair with a circular filament of drool weaving a circle in the air around her head as she imagines the blatant linkwhoring traffic she’s garnering her paycheck overlords with yet another contest based on superficial sexual comparisons. Well, they fucking work, so there’s the formula. Don’t tell anyone! It’s a big online PR sekrit. Plus — possible boobs! If you look really close.
That said, PETA is doing a “sexiest vegetarian next door” contest. It’s open to anyone so you too can feel the insecurity of probably not being stereotypically hot enough to make the grade. But if you are, you can win win win, though I think the prize is being a Big Fucking Weiner and getting PETA press and traffic. I’m all for the sexing up of vegetarianism — I’m up for the sexing up of *anything* because I am the kind of girl who licks my monitor when I see a goddamn zucchini onscreen. And I’ve been subjected to inclusion in many ‘hot blogger’ contests (ahem, Playboy, who bait-and-switched photo use permission request not telling any of us it was a contest). So until People Eatin’ Them Animals has a literal hot or not contest with bacon bras, go check out the meat-free meat.
The other contest in this carefree, lighthearted post: you can actually win money from and quite a lot, when you consider the going rate for erotica these days. LoveHoney UK is having an erotic short story contest where the winner gets actual currency for writing a hot story — more than what you’d get for getting a story in any anthology on the market. It’s like £500 (more than dollars, yo) and runners-up get some decent scratch, too. And when you compare it with Ravenous Romance’s visionary braintrust screw-you-authors-and-editors, I’m keeping your work forever contracts-from-hell [Cartman voice] and average $10 a story, it just makes me fall in love, honey, all over again with the striking WIN of LoveHoney’s contest. (via my overstuffed inbox)
I’m a closet astrology buff — think what you will. So I’m extremely excited to see a really fantastic horoscope column launch that’s tailored to sex and is the kind of sexual astrology I’ve always wanted to see. All too often it’s “how to get your man” or some other blather, but Sex Magic by Ida Lovelace rocks the fucking house (hopefully literally, for this Virgo). Total awesomeness.

"Daggering," according to the AP and The Daily Swarm -- be warned that some of the seriously raw amateur club and outdoor-shot videos might be disturbing; the dance style is extreme, roughly sexual and often portrays violence toward the female participants. Snip:

Sean Penn (Marin resident, BTW) won "Best Actor" for Milk, which, by the way, is required viewing. In his speech, he calls out the people who stood outside the Oscars with their anti-gay signs. I don't know what's more moving, his speech or the audience crying (emoting).

This year, Daisy Lowe becomes the face of Marc by Marc Jacobs, and has a fashion modeling resume longer than her own generous gams. I'm so glad I found this collection of her going au naturel for i-D March 2009 at The Fashion Time.
