no on 8 fundraiser

We’ve been reading all about Apple giving money, and Google giving a nod. And what’s really stuck in our collective throats is that the Mormon church has martialized out of state resources to support the utter awfulness of California’s Prop 8 — and used over 8 million in tax-free church revenue to support the fucking thing. Even some Mormons are upset; it’s such a divisive thing for a church to do. Ugh — the ugliness of homophobia :( So, to swing things back in the direction of equality, starting at midnight EST (tonight), the good people at New York based Comstock Films are holding the marriage-bed-on-fire sale of the year: every DVD purchased for the 24-hour period of October 28 will have the *entire amount* donated to fight prop 8 (you still gotta pay for shipping, but that’s life). It is their official No on 8 Fundraiser. Every penny goes to opposing the anti-gay marriage legislation. All those hot, shot on film, real-life loving couples of all orientations who professed their love then show how they love to fuck each other, on camera… All those boxcovers festooned with awards of laurel leaves from winning prizes at film festivals around the globe… All of it goes to something we can all believe in on one level or another. Two adults who love each other deserve all rights of marriage — big, big props to Comstock Films for putting their livelihood on the line for 24 hours to do something good for us over here in the West. We love you!

Now, if you’ve been meaning to see why poeple love Comstock Films so much — check your local time, and when October 28 starts in New York, buy a video already!

We raised $1696 in DVD sales. We’ll kick in a little more and round it up to $1700. Someone from NoOnProp8 is supposed to call in a couple of minutes to take take the donation. Thanks for helping us get the word out!

Thanks Kathryn!
Just to clarify, the porn membership site that’s donating it’s sales is Pink & White Productions’ CrashPadSeries.com : )

When Pink & White heard about Comstock’s campaign fundraiser a few days ago, they decided to join the effort. So both companies are doing donations of their porno sales for the No on Prop 8 Campaign. So cool!

Good Vibes magazine also points out is doing a similar donation of their sales on the 30th which includes membership sales to their queer porn site.

Whew! For a minute I thought you were saying that Apple gave money for Yes on Prop 8 – so glad I’m wrong!

Couple of cute No on Prop 8 ads in the manner of the Apple “I’m a PC, I’m a Mac” ads here if you haven’t seen them already:
