the Michigan law is certainly an overreaction.. but I do have to say, I was amazed on a recent trip to Michigan at just how visible the porn was at gas stations. Hustler and Club International were in magazine racks just 2-3 feet off the ground, right at kiddie eye level. In California I never see porn in gas stations, but I’d expect it to be on the top shelf if it were displayed. (I assume it’s behind the counter… I’ve never tried to buy porn at a gas station, what with the internet, and with lots of porn stores near where I work anyway)

A simple top shelf restriction would have been sufficient, and I don’t see why they’d go after anything tamer than Playboy. I would imagine (or at least hope) that the courts narrow the scope of the law.

i’m gonna give it a go. I wonder how explicit of an image could be put on the card? I’ll have to borrow a camera an make my own pics so the are absolutely no copyright infringement.

Sorry for the long comment.

I tried this with my bank. I used classic Pin-ups. About 3 years ago, they printed it. Just recently, I tried it again with a new image (because mine was faded and no longer ‘swiped’), and they rejected it due to “possible copyright infringement”. I even tried to put my own art on my card and they still rejected it. I suspect Capitol One will do the same thing. It’s awesome they offer the service, but a shame they censor it.
