@ Dan, yes we are that desperate for accurate sex information for our kids here — unless you count the Internets ;)

@ Mark — I’m really glad you pointed that out because I missed the LGBT (even if it’s just a “Queer Eye” G) on the first pass. that’s great to hear.

@ Stranger 2070 — yes, I’ve got several posts with the Midwest Teen Sex Show, and when they were in SF for the sex + tech conference I did a column and interview with them for the SF Chronicle. I’m a big fan. if we could just combine their conversations starters with the anatomy and factual info offered by things like the videos above (and a lot of emphasis on sexual pleasure, i.e. *why* we do this stuff, ’cause it feels good, and how), we’d have the perfect resource. in my dreams, I want to put all those things in a jar, shake it up, and make a webshow out of it.

Hello VB, have you seen http://midwestteensexshow.com/. This is a frank and often funny podcast about sex, sex health, preferences, etc. I'm collecting these for my friend. It ought to make it easier for him to give the birds and bees conversation to his kids when they get to age.

The TV show has included some clear participation from gays, moderately stereotypical but also not judgemental.

I guess this would be a big deal to american’s, but in the UK, although people are very shy in public about sex, there’s none of this abstinence crap, even the religious people in the UK understand the need for safe sex.

I remember when I was about 14 having to learn to put a condom on a cucumber – funny, but humbling, because a lot of the girls in the class were asking if that’s what size penises really were. I felt very inadequate for the next few days.

I even remember we learnt about what sex was and how it works in our final year of primary school (11 years old)
