Feeling blue and dreaming

A couple days ago I was feeling especially low and wanted to slip away into dreams forever, so I took some self-portraits with my Ocean. The set is here and all 10 photos can be seen with this guest pass. I originally wasn’t going to blog the images because I feel like it should coincide with a post I’m planning about living publicly and demanding a right to privacy. But I was so moved by this thought-provoking post about my self-portraits and how self-portraits make one feel as the subject — and the two tribute images they inspired (after the jump) — that I decided to post a few favorites. Having had enough “short skirt = asking for it” thrown in my face lately about privacy, public life, sex, and yes, modeling for photos with weapons as somehow making me deserving of stalking and harassment, I’m not going to be cowed into *not* expressing myself or lowering my self-esteem because of other people’s issues. Anyway, if you don’t want to see my nipples, don’t look after the jump, m’kay?

  1. It is interesting to catch moments in time w. photos and then return to them later. Good to remember where you were and then think about your current status and feelings.

BTW the first picture is my fav, but they work as a series in Blue. Thanks for sharing
