she blinded me with science

I’ve always thought of bodypainting as that horrible thing they did in 1990s porn when they wanted to make “fantasy” or alien or jungle scenes and then the sex would start and all the makeup would get all gross in places you never ever ever want to see greasepaint collect and get oogey… But as it happens, there’s a yearly World Bodypainting Festival where no one has to lick Ben Nye green #338 off a schlong, but there is in fact lots of nudity and pretty astounding, artful bodypainting. That one of the themes this year was “Science – World of Wonders” makes it especially noteworthy here. This is the official World Bodypainting Festival 2008 site with tons of outrageous galleries (omg brain in a jar), and I found a nice science collection uploaded to Flickr by sev0r, including shots like “tribute to the lightbulb (and its inventor)”. Also, check out the set by cosmo mark, here — with this lovely example of the Asia Empires day, curiously yet breastily displayed on a possible Swiss Air stewardess. This is also some notable Asia day loveliness.

But — this is *not* a Burger King ad, though it should be.
