Just stumbled across this news item in the Sydney Morning Herald (popup warining), snip:
(…) Senior Constable Davis said towels, cushions and pillows, a foot spa and construction hat appeared to have been deliberately placed over Ms Germain’s body. “It didn’t look like she had pulled it on top of her. It looked staged,” she said.
A blue disposable razor was found between Ms Germain’s legs and her pubic region had been partly shaved. The cord of an iron had been loosely wrapped around Ms Germain’s neck and her hair was knotted around the cord in such a way that “it looked like a struggle had happened,” Senior Constable Davis said.
“It’s not something you’d do yourself, I suppose, I’m not sure,” she said.
Part of a banana skin was found near the razor and in the basin, the court heard.(…a bit more.)
A previous SMH piece Dirty dealings in Darlinghurst: mystery of Joyce Germain reveals even more odd details, such as red lipstick smeared around the bathroom. The story Bizarre Murder Scene for US Actress in MSN tells us that she also had a clothespin attached to her ladybits, a toaster was hanging from a shower rod, a character with an “ice addiction” who was known to wear a construction hat on his “ice binges” is a suspect, and that the initial pathologist’s finding was suicide or death by natural causes. In Ice user panicked after finding body of Joyce Germain we learn the iceman cometh into the apartment to find her body, shot up *ice* and shaved his eyebrows off while sitting next to her, and then reported the death. WTF!?

ice (or methamphetamine) fucks you up like you wouldn’t believe… i once saw a guy who had smoked heaps, and was getting violent in public, it took 4 policemen to hold him down
now that would make sense. but the reporting isn’t making the distinction that it’s meth, which is seriously confusing.

in Australia, “ice” use has had wide-spread media coverage. you say ice to someone here, the first thing they think is the drug, not the frozen water.
