First comment for this blog for me... I've been enjoying it for some time now, thanks!

I agree with Kaija, entirely! It is good to see males and females in the mix. I think my favorite of the pics linked to was the one with the posed male in suit, and the fellow next to him in the same pose, without clothing. Nicely photographed.

Keep up the good work, Violet!

I like...gorgeous pictures, and I agree 100% that it is REFRESHING to see some male nudity in the mix...there should be more of this. I like eye candy (and I think this totally counts as some Hot Boy Thursday action). Both the male and female models are too skinny for my tastes, but hey, just the whole mix of boys and girls in all kinds of numbers and pairings is a huge step in the right direction for advertising! :)

The new Tom Ford campaign is fascinating. As a child of an advertising family, and a photographer though I'm torn.

Naked Flesh = hot.

As an advertising creative...I really want to know who the hell signed off on this. It really doesn't fit the brand and the image that I've been describing to people as "the golden shower photo" is really a stretch. Plus the only cohesion to the campaign is "LOOK SEX!" Sure, people are going to be talking about these ads. But they're not going to be giving a damn about Tom Ford the design house.

But as a photographer I find the photographs to be a bit dull. They're "provocative," but it really feels like it's working SO hard to be provocative. While I do agree that "implied nudity is like implied food" this feels like it's just pushing so hard without really having a reason or intent behind it other than to only be shown on the website and Vogue Paris. They're kind of tacky and thrown together. And I mean really..."The Golden Shower photo..." wtf?
