I’m blogging from SFO right now, waiting for my Virgin flight to NYC — the connection here is glacial and not free and keeps dropping me (turning 15 minutes of connection into a $10 expense), which is crazy considering that we’re supposed to be the tech Mecca. I’m on my way to stay at a friend’s apartment in Hell’s Kitchen which is vacant for a bit, and my original plan was to go to work on Best Women’s Erotica 2009… But now I have a major meeting about a possible project added on top, a photo shoot with Paulie & Pauline for Nerve, a big NYC sex writer brunch/salon omgomg organized by Viviane just for me… and I just realized that Scott is on his way to NY on the flight ahead of me! Sadly, I won’t be making it to ROFLcon with my GETV posse. But I will be on quite an adventure, which I didn’t expect at all.
I will be blogging and making media in a variety of ways: the usual Helio Ocean photos direct to my Flickr photostream and Qik is now sponsoring me for good with a livestreaming phone. I’ll be occasionally shooting live video (like I did recently with Margaret Cho) and you can watch my Qik page, and to get the stream live as I’m shooting it, subscribe to the Qik RSS feed or you can follow me on Twitter. Thank you, Qik! The last time I streamed was a loan phone through Justin.tv, and now I’m happy to be hooked directly to the service working with Nokia. Yay!
I’m also just getting out of my life for a few days — well, as much as I can since I live here online with you most of the time. I’m meditating on what makes me happy, and thinking about my next set of outrageous, ridiculous goals. I’m going to miss HB a lot. …and yes: that’s a trademark “R” you see after my name on the broswer bar. My Federal registered mark became official a while back, and now I’m seeping it into my name into the world — it’s a strange feeling, since I believe so strongly in the principles of open source and free ideas, yet I’m excited, relieved and glad to have Federal protection and recognition behind what I do in this world.
Last but not least by any means: today on Fleshbot I’m announcing the winners of the Fucking Machines LOLpr0n contest membership giveaway! It was really hard to choose, and the LOLs are sooooo good… The announcement post will go up in a bit; I’ll post an update link here or you can just peep Fleshbot throughout the day for your dirty friday LOLs.

Oooh…or Rudy’s Bar in Hell’s Kitchen. Great neighborhood dive bar on 9th Ave around 44th St. Free hot dogs, if that floats yer boat. Hmmm…I’m noticing a hot dog theme to my comments today.

If you get a chance, go for a drink at PDT on St. Mark’s Place. Great cocktails, if you are into that kinda thing. It’s a neo-speakeasy that you get into through the phone booth at Crif Dogs…a hot dog takeout joint.
