sxsw 2008 panel picker is waiting for your votes

IMG_0867And, yes, this starts as a shameless plug for my proposed panel Sexual Privacy Online. My description reads:

Can anyone really be sexually anonymous online? How private is your sexual privacy? Outed “anonymous” sex bloggers, porn laws resulting in performers being stalked; Google’s history logs tracking all of us, paying for adult goods and services online safely: blogging, online forms, Craigslist personals (i.e. the “Craigslist Experiment”), comments, email, etc. Internet sexual privacy affects everyone.

Link.

If the panel gets selected (with enough votes), I have a stunning lineup: a well-known cyberlawyer, a hacker, a respected internet-sexuality author, and I’m in negotiation with a famous (now outed) “anonymous” sex blogger — in addition to a possible investigator for the DoJ. If the panel is selected, I’ll be moderating.

Other SXSW Interactive panel picks that get my vote:

= Pink Ghetto Blasters: Destigmatizing Sex via Online Community Building (disclaimer: I’ve been invited to be on this panel)
= The Future of Sex in Interactive Narrative
= Online Sex Advice — Go Ask Alice, Savage Love & Beyond
= The Porn Police: Know the Rules
= Effective Multitasking
= The Evil Axis of Videoblogging: SF, NY, LA
= Making the Move to the TV
= Getting Funded: How to Attract the Right Investors
= TMZ: The Celebrity of Entertainment News
= Behind the Scenes at the Onion News Network
= Whither Citizen Journalism: A Critical Review
