career girls, updated

A reader sends me a link back from 2005 to The Exciting Game of Career Girls (also seen @ Boing Boing). The “game” itself is one of those deliciously retro curiosities of cultural perceptions about what “little girls should be when they grow up”, and we could all go on and on about how narrow and silly and naive and inaccurate this game was even at the time (1966). I mean, I don’t see Batgirl or stuntwoman in there. But the reader also sent me another link — and if you love how the Internet has its own version of call and response, you’ll love nerdgirl’s immediate updates, baby mammas and all.

Violet Blue

The London Times named Violet Blue "One of the 40 bloggers who really count" and Self Magazine named TinyNibbles one of the “Best Sex Resources for Women.” Blue is an autodidact and pundit on sex and technology, hacking and security, porn for women, privacy and bleeding-edge tech culture. She is a journalist for ZDNet, CBS News, CNET; she's an educator, speaker, crisis counselor, volunteer NGO trainer, and the author and editor of over 40 award-winning books.
