three cheers for the girl!

Hooray for Girl With A One-Track Mind, who won the 2006 Bloggie award for “Best British or Irish Weblog”! It’s such great news, as she’s a really cool chick (I had a beer or five with her in London last year), and it’s right before the release of her upcoming book (Girl With A One-Track Mind: Confessions of the Seductress Next Door). I might be a blogly bumpkin saying this, but I really had no idea that they’d allow a sex blog to win such a wide-ranging category, making it a really awesome win; truly a breakthrough for sex-positivity. Though it’s no surprise, as she’s such a fantasic writer. Two of my other faves won big as well — Boing Boing and Make: Blog — though I’m really disappointed that Crooks and Liars didn’t get Best Weblog About Politics, as they most certainly deserved it after such amazing, incredible Hurricane Katrina coverage.
