Last night I went to Nerd Salon and had lots of fun listening to my friends talk about code (totally over my head), my pal’s Berkeley engineering robot project (got that one) and then when I just couldn’t take it anymore I rode molecular gastronomy geek and food hacker (and friend) Marc like a pony. (Grainy phonecam pic by my SRL pal Karen, the Dorkbot SF dominatrix.) Marc explained a new term to me, “blog drop”. I though it might be when you accidentally read Valleywag and have to run to the bathroom a lot, but Marc explained that blog drop is when you “get the drop on” Scott Beale, as in blogging something before he does. So it’s almost impossible.
It’s been so cold and rainy here in SF that it’s been difficult to leave the house, but it was a much-needed escape to see friends. Here’s the Flickr NerdSalon set, inlcuding this great pic of salon hosts Annalee Newitz and Jennifer Granick looking tres sexy.
